OUR STORY
Sarah’s path to Pilates began with her own healing. After an overwhelming season of work triggered a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, she turned to the practice as a lifeline. Pilates restored her strength, renewed her joy, and brought her back to herself. That personal transformation now fuels her deep passion to guide others. With warmth, energy, and unwavering belief in every client, Sarah brings a sense of possibility to each session meeting people exactly where they are, and helping them move forward with grace.
Via Soma is a Pilates practice rooted in the classical method of Joseph Pilates. A return to the body’s intelligence, strength, and grace. With a name that means “the way of the body,” Via Soma invites practitioners to move with intention, cultivating a connection between breath, movement, and deep physical awareness.
More than a workout, Via Soma is a somatic journey toward vitality, alignment, and clarity. Every session is infused with Sarah’s warm, uplifting energy creating a space where each client feels seen, supported, and empowered to rediscover their inner spark.
Sarah Alperti is the founder and instructor behind Via Soma, a private Pilates practice rooted in the classical method and guided by thoughtful, individualized care.
Sarah is a certified Pilates instructor through The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, an institution recognized for preserving the integrity of Joseph Pilates’ original work. She previously held roles as a Pilates Coordinator, Area Manager, and Instructor at Equinox, gaining experience within a global, high-standard environment centered on movement, wellness, and performance.
Her approach reflects a deep respect for the legacy and tradition of classical Pilates. Working exclusively one-on-one, Sarah emphasizes precision, balance, and continuity taking time to understand each client’s movement history, injuries, and individual needs. She maintains detailed notes to support thoughtful progression, ensuring each session builds meaningfully upon the last.
At the heart of Sarah’s work is a belief in Pilates as a lifelong practice one that supports strength, resilience, and healing when taught with care and integrity. Via Soma reflects her commitment to honoring the method as it was intended, while guiding each individual with clarity, intention, and respect.
Via Soma was founded as a space for thoughtful, one-on-one Pilates where the work is guided by care, continuity, and respect for the individual body. Rooted in the classical method developed by Joseph Pilates, the practice honors tradition while remaining responsive to the needs of each client.
At Via Soma, movement is never rushed and never generic. Each session begins with careful observation and understanding of movement history, prior injuries, and patterns that shape how the body moves and adapts. Strength and balance are developed gradually, through precise, intentional work that supports long-term resilience rather than quick results.
The practice is shaped by relationship and continuity. Detailed notes and ongoing assessment allow each session to build upon the last, creating a steady, informed progression over time. This approach ensures that no two practices are the same, while remaining grounded in the integrity of the classical system.
Via Soma exists for those seeking a quieter, more intentional approach to Pilates one that values depth over volume, and care over convention.
